9/11 Portrait utilizes the ostinato technique to varying degrees, its primary focus is not on the ostinato itself. 9/11 Portrait is my most personal work, taking the listener through the feelings I experienced through the attack and its aftermath. Even two years later [as these notes were written], the attacks still seem more like an awful nightmare than a reality, or perhaps like a scene out of this past decade\'s movies of mass destruction such as Independence Day, Deep Impact, or The Sum of All Fears. 9/11 Portrait serves to crystallize the overwhelming emotions that I and so many others experienced, to help ensure that humanity never forgets the horror of the event.', CAPTION, '9/11 Portrait');" onmouseout="return nd();">9/11 Portrait 13'12
