4/07 - Minor web update - My Concerts page has now changed to a more general Schedule page to account not only for concerts but also for judging, workshops I give, etc. Also, my Writings page now includes publications, which right now only includes a sheet music review, but will soon include more.
 
4/07 - Tahoe Concert - Very pleased with last year's turnout, the Tahoe Tallac Association (Lake Tahoe, CA) is going to present me in concert again this year (September 2007). I'm trying to work up as much new material for this concert as possible, although it is challenging finding time to practice around my schedule of giving piano lessons six days per week, watching my kids when my wife goes to school, and playing piano for my church. 4/07 - Festival Results - Every Spring, there is a Reno Youth Music Festival put on by the Northern Nevada Music Teachers Association (intermediate levels in March, advanced levels in May), usually consisting of 80-120 students from 15-25 teachers in the Reno area. In the last two festivals (March 2007 and May 2006), all 13 of my students who participated received ratings of Superior (8 in March 2007 and 5 in May 2006). The May 2007 festival was unfortunately cancelled by the association, but I am putting on additional events for the benefit of my students to substitute for the festival.
 
3/07 - E-mail Malfunctioning - E-mail from my webform (on my Contact page) was not working at the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007. Spammers found a way to exploit security holes in the form to send spam, so my web host disabled e-mailing ability from the form. I did not find out about this until several months after they disabled it, so if you sent me any e-mail using the form during that time period, please send it again!
 
8/06 - Website redesigned - Although this website looks similar to how it looked before, major changes have been made to it. The most noticeable, of course, is the fact that you can now download free video and purchase my sheet music. Some audio tracks from my CDs are available in their complete form, and you can also read various musical writings of mine.
 

6/05 - Grant - I was awarded the 2005 Nevada Arts Council Fellowship Grant for the composing on my Ostinato CD. It is a $5,000 grant given to three artists in performing, literature and visual arts. My category (performing) included applicants throughout the state of Nevada in acting, set design, dancing, choreography, poetry reading, music performance, and music composition (popular, jazz, new). The main consideration the judges were focusing on is the originality and "newness" of the work.

 

3/05 - Newsletter - Be sure to sign up for my newsletter, which will keep you informed whenever I am performing in your area, when a new CD or piece of sheet music is released, or when other major events are taking place. It is mailed sporadically throughout the year, usually not more often than once every couple months (and removal instructions are included with every newsletter, of course).
